Cloudspaces and VMs can be connected to one or several external networks.
To add an External Network to your G8, contact your administrator.

In terms of availability for user accounts within the G8 an external network can be defined in two ways:

  • Publically available external networks are accessible for all accounts of the G8. A default external network is typically defined on a G8 and is used by the Cloudspaces to access the Internet in case no other option is specified.
  • Privately available external networks are accessible only for a specific account. This becomes a solution to stretch a private enterprise network to an account on the G8. A DHCP of the private enterprise network will assign an IP address to the external interface of the VFW.
